To the Esteemed Members of the Geneva Human Rights and Democracy Summit,

To the Esteemed Members of the Geneva Human Rights and Democracy Summit,

We, the undersigned, write to draw your attention to the ongoing struggle of the Iranian people for freedom, justice, and democracy. It is with great respect for this Summit’s mission that we seek to highlight the resilience of the Iranian people and the critical need for effective leadership during this transformative period.

Honorable Members,

For over four decades, the people of Iran have resisted the oppressive rule of a regime that has systematically violated their most fundamental rights. Since 1979, laws rooted in theocratic ideology have been used to suppress dissent, justify torture, and execute innocent individuals, fostering an environment of fear and injustice.

Yet, despite these adversities, the Iranian people have demonstrated extraordinary courage. Activists, families, and organizations have risked their safety to expose the regime’s human rights abuses, advocate for prisoners of conscience, and demand accountability.

These efforts have led to transformative changes within the Iranian diaspora, embodied by the national revolution, which inspires unity and envisions a future built on secular democracy, justice, and equality.

At this critical juncture, strong and unifying leadership is essential to guide the nation toward a peaceful and democratic future.

Amid the many voices in this struggle, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi stands out as a leader embodying the democratic principles essential for a smooth and just transition. His unwavering commitment to non-violence, inclusivity, and the protection of human rights, coupled with a profound respect for Iran’s historical and cultural identity, positions him as a unifying figure capable of guiding Iran toward a brighter, more democratic future.

Key Reasons for Leadership in Transition

1.     A Symbol of Unity and Trust:

His connection to Iran’s modern history resonates deeply with the Iranian people, evoking a sense of unity and trust. For many, his leadership represents a bridge between the past and the future, offering stability during a time of uncertainty.

2.     A Proven Commitment to Human Rights and Justice:

He has consistently championed principles of justice, transparency, and accountability. His advocacy for transitional justice—a process to address past violations, ensure redress for victims, and build trust—is essential for fostering reconciliation and rebuilding the nation. This framework, recognized internationally, lays the foundation for a democratic society grounded in fairness and equality.

3.     Neutrality and Inclusivity:

By remaining outside the regime’s power structure, he has maintained a neutral stance that resonates across social and political divides. His insistence on a democratic referendum to determine Iran’s future governance underscores his commitment to allowing the people to decide their own destiny, whether in the form of a republic or a constitutional monarchy.

4.     A Strong Global Voice:

With established relationships with international human rights organizations and democratic institutions, he has the credibility and networks needed to bring the Iranian people’s struggle to the global stage. His ability to advocate for international solidarity strengthens Iran’s case for a peaceful transition.

5.     Extensive Networks and Resources:

His collaborations with legal experts, human rights activists, and diaspora communities provide the necessary tools to design and implement mechanisms of accountability, ensuring that Iran’s transition adheres to international standards and upholds the rule of law.

The Role of Transitional Justice

A key element of leadership during this time is the commitment to transitional justice. Addressing the grievances of the past is not only about holding perpetrators accountable but also about building trust and uniting a fractured society. Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi focus on fair and transparent trials, impartial processes, and support for victims ensures that justice will not be sacrificed in the pursuit of stability. This approach aligns with international principles, such as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and provides a path for rebuilding Iran as a nation rooted in dignity and fairness.

A Call for Global Solidarity

The Iranian people’s struggle is not only a fight for their own freedom but a testament to the universal values of human rights and democracy. The regime’s decades-long record of repression and violence demands a strong and unified response from the international community.

We urge this assembly to stand in solidarity with the Iranian people during this pivotal time.

The leadership of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi offers a vision of unity, justice, and secular democracy that reflects the aspirations of a diverse nation.

Supporting this national revolution is not just an investment in Iran’s future but a contribution to the broader global fight for freedom and human dignity.

This moment presents a unique opportunity to honor the sacrifices of the Iranian people and help transform their vision into reality.

By standing with them, we can ensure that their voices are heard, their rights are upheld, and their aspirations for a free and democratic Iran are realized.

With hope and determination,
